The forces of good and evil have matured and they are squaring up. I don’t believe that the battle will take place on 21st December 2012 but it will be soon. It’s not wrong for anyone to prepare for that day. But anybody who tells you they know the EXACT date is lying.

Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. – Apple Inc

I admit Apple is a great brand although I haven’t own any Apple products yet. Huhuhu. The upcoming iPhone 4S looks promising, maybe I will attempt to get one or maybe iPhone 5, who knows? Hehehe. iPhone is the only Apple product I’m interested in. Anyway, the founder of Apple Inc, Steve Jobs, who have been an icon for modern technology passed away at the age of 56 recently.

In September 2011, his net worth was at USD 7.0 billion. Being one of the richest man in the world would be something everyone fantasies about. However, for him that achieved it, it wasn’t any big deal. In the Wall Street Journal (1993) he quoted, “Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me. Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful… that’s what matters to me.”

Steve Jobs revolutionized the personal computer industry with iMac and MacBook, the animation industry through Pixar, the music industry through iPod, the mobile industry by bringing iPhone and before resigning, he revolutionized the tablet industry through iPad.

By the way, know what’s cool about Steve Jobs other than his innovations? He’s cool because he did this: “I would walk seven miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple. I loved it.” xD

I’m envious of him because of this: He was worth over USD 1 million when he was 23, and over USD 10 million when he was 24 and over 100 million when he was 25. After all that, he said, “It wasn’t that important because I never did it for the money.” =.=

Something that he said of which I hope I will find it to be true in my life: “You have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever – because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart even when it leads you off the well-worn path, and that will make all the difference.”

I was reading his page on Wikipedia, it sums up his achievements very well by saying: “At the time of his resignation, and again after his death, he was widely described as a visionary, pioneer and genius — perhaps one of the foremost — in the field of business, innovation and product design and a man who had profoundly changed the face of the modern world, revolutionized at least six different industries and who was an ‘exemplar for all chief executives.’ His death was widely mourned and considered a loss to the world by commentators across the globe.”

Below I have listed commentators from famous and wealthy personalities. If you look at it, some of it came from his greatest business rivals. Those people admired Steve Jobs although he was their competitor.

Barack Obama (US President)
“Michelle and I are saddened to learn of the passing of Steve Jobs. Steve was among the greatest of American innovators – brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it. By building one of the planet’s most successful companies from his garage, he exemplified the spirit of American ingenuity. By making computers personal and putting the Internet in our pockets, he made the information revolution not only accessible, but intuitive and fun. And by turning his talents to storytelling, he has brought joy to millions of children and grownups alike. Steve was fond of saying that he lived every day like it was his last. Because he did, he transformed our lives, redefined entire industries, and achieved one of the rarest feats in human history: he changed the way each of us sees the world. The world has lost a visionary. And there may be no greater tribute to Steve’s success than the fact that much of the world learned of is passing on a device he invented. Michelle and I send our thoughts and prayers to Steve’s wife Laurene, his family, and all those who loved him.”

Bill Gates (Founder of Microsoft Corp)
“I’m truly saddened to learn of Steve Jobs’ death. Melinda and I extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends, and to everyone Steve has touched through his work. Steve and I first met nearly 30 years ago, and have been colleagues, competitors and friends over the course of more than half our lives. The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come. For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely.”

Eric Schmidt (Chairman of Google Inc)
“He’s clearly the most effective and successful American CEO in the last 50 years. He didn’t just found Apple, and he didn’t actually just make it successful in the first decade, he also took it after a bad period, and rebuilt it. Which has essentially never been done in an American corporations, to be the extraordinary company it is today. To me, Steve proves that nerds don’t win. Artists do. And that Steve who is both a technologist, but really an artist, shows that art matters and the rest of us missed the fact that beautiful simple products are what people want.”

Sergey Brin (Co-Founder of Google Inc)
“From the earliest days of Google, whenever Larry and I sought inspiration for vision and leadership, we needed to look no farther than Cupertino. Steve, your passion for excellence is felt by anyone who has ever touched an Apple product (including the MacBook I am writing this on right now). And I have witnessed it in person the few times we have met. On behalf of all of us at Google and more broadly in technology, you will be missed very much. My condolences to family, friends, and colleagues at Apple.”

Larry Page (Chief Executive of Google Inc)
“He was a great man with incredible achievements and amazing brilliance. He always seemed to be able to say in very few words what you actually should have been thinking before you thought it. His focus on the user experience above all else has always been an inspiration to me.”

Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook CEO)
“Steve, thank you for being a mentor and a friend. Thanks for showing that what you build can change the world. I will miss you.”

George Lucas (Film Maker/Producer)
“The magic of Steve was that while others simply accepted the status quo, he saw the true potential in everything he touched and never compromised on that vision. He leaves behind an incredible family and a legacy that will continue to speak to people for years to come.”

John Lasseter (Chief Creative Officer of Pixar & Disney Animation Studios)
commented, “Steve Jobs was an extraordinary visionary, our very dear friend and the guiding light of the Pixar family. He saw the potential of what Pixar could be before the rest of us, and beyond what anyone ever imagined. Steve took a chance on us and believed in our crazy dream of making computer animated films; the one thing he always said was to simply ‘make it great.’ He is why Pixar turned out the way we did and his strength, integrity and love of life has made us all better people. He will forever be a part of Pixar’s DNA. Our hearts go out to his wife Laurene and their children during this incredibly difficult time.”

Bob Iger (President of Walt Disney Company)
“Steve Jobs was a great friend as well as a trusted advisor. His legacy will extend far beyond the products he created or the businesses he built. It will be the millions of people he inspired, the lives he changed, and the culture he defined. Steve was such an “original,” with a thoroughly creative, imaginative mind that defined an era. Despite all he accomplished, it feels like he was just getting started. With his passing the world has lost a rare original, Disney has lost a member of our family, and I have lost a great friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Laurene and his children during this difficult time.”

Jerry Yang (Co-Founder of Yahoo! Inc)
“Steve was my hero growing up. He not only gave me a lot of personal advice and encouragement, he showed all of us how innovation can change lives. I will miss him dearly, as will the world.”

Howard Stringer (CEO of Sony Corp)
“The digital age has lost its leading light, but Steve’s innovation and creativity will inspire dreamers and thinkers for generations.”

Edmund Brown (California Government)
“Steve Jobs was a great California innovator who demonstrated what a totally independent and creative mind can accomplish. Few people have made such a powerful and elegant imprint on our lives. Anne and I wish to express our deepest sympathy to Steve’s wife, Laurene, and their entire family.”

Michael Bloomberg (New York City Mayor)
“Tonight, America lost a genius who will be remembered with Edison and Einstein, and whose ideas will shape the world for generations to come. Again and again over the last four decades, Steve Jobs saw the future and brought it to life long before most people could even see the horizon. And Steve’s passionate belief in the power of technology to transform the way we live brought us more than smart phones and iPads: it brought knowledge and power that is reshaping the face of civilization. In New York City’s government, everyone from street construction inspectors to NYPD detectives have harnessed Apple’s products to do their jobs more efficiently and intuitively. Tonight our City – a city that has always had such respect and admiration for creative genius – joins with people around the planet in remembering a great man and keeping Laurene and the rest of the Jobs family in our thoughts and prayers.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger (Actor/Politician)
“Steve lived the California Dream every day of his life and he changed the world and inspired all of us.”

Tim Cook (Chief Executive of Apple Inc)
“Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”

Michael Dell (Chief Executive of Dell)
“Today the world lost a visionary leader, the technology industry lost an iconic legend and I lost a friend and fellow founder. The legacy of Steve Jobs will be remembered for generations to come.”

Rest In Peace, Steve Jobs
